I really enjoyed the Pacificon ARRL Pacific Division Ham Radio Convention held this past weekend in San Ramon, California.

This event grows in size and popularity each year and is hosted by the Mount Diablo Amateur Radio Club. They do an outstanding job each year of arranging and hosting this event. My hat is off to them!

One of the finest aspects of this convention is the exposure that young people get to electronics, technology and amateur radio. Pacificon really has something for everyone. The kids gain exposure and get instruction on how to solder and assemble various kits. The materials and guidance are provided to the kids. It’s great to see this kind of mentoring take place. If you are out on the West Coast next year, please consider a visit to Pacificon. You can find more information at http://pacificon.org
