Monk Apollo with Zorro         Mike K7IR donates a new SteppIR Yagi.

In the latest installment of the SV2ASP/A antenna saga, I’m pleased to report that a new antenna is on the way to Monk Apollo. Hopefully this will stimulate much Mount Athos activity in the near future.

Noted Humanitarian and Dxpeditioner Y. “Zorro” Miyazawa-JH1AJT negotiated with SteppIR Antennas to donate a new antenna to Monk Apollo. SteppIR President and Founder Mike Mertel K7IR and SteppIR operations manager Adam Blackmer-K7EDX readily agreed to provide the antenna. Zorro also paid for a 30/40 upgrade kit and shipping of the antenna from Bellvue Washington to Mouth Athos, Greece. What a terrific effort by Zorro and the great folks at SteppIR!

Kostas-SV1DPI and his team of Greek hams from Athens will deliver and set up the antenna at Mt. Athos. Let’s hope that Monk Apollo can reciprocate by making his presence on the bands very soon.
